Lyrics · artist-supplied

Here comes a revolution
It’s getting old
Simply accepting the things we’re’re told

(Here comes a) Revolution
It’s never enough
We’re all locked up
Here comes a Revolution

Here comes a Revolution

Here comes a Revolution
Here comes a Revolution
Here comes a Revolution
Here comes a Revolution!

Harden your self
Strengthen your will
Prepare for hell
Revolution

Revolution

Load up your gun
Fix bayonet
We must prepare
Revolution

Working interpretation · analysis

> **Interpretation note:** This is analysis of the supplied lyrics, not an authoritative statement of authorial intent.

The refrain turns an announced revolution into a repeated demand. The opening objects to accepting what people are told and to feeling locked up; later commands to strengthen one's will and prepare for conflict make the language more militant. The lyrics leave open whether that escalation is a call to action, a depiction of mounting pressure, or something more ambivalent.

Themes

systemic change, conflict, agency, collective action
